Our team was appointed for the design development of a new 40,000m2 single level shopping mall on a prime land plot of 110,000m2 in North-West Moscow.
The project site is located adjacent to Sheremetyevo International Airport on the main highway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Our team worked closely with all international design and investor partners to deliver this project through a successful approval process. Structural design of the shopping center entailed efficient solutions to comply with the architectural concept and commercial requirements of the Client.
The typical structure is represented by a system of single level, multi-bay steel beams on precast concrete columns on typical grid of 12.0х7.2 m. A flat, one-level metal deck steel roof is designed throughout the building with continuous skylights along the shopping atriums. At key atrium intersections elevated steel structures and domes were required to cover these spaces. The ornamental entrances and facades are designed as reinforced concrete walls over 10m high.
The designed shopping center is located on the same level with the car park and the highway for direct communication. Thus, due to the location of the object on the slope, the site was raised up to 5 m in height due to the non-bearing embankment, and the foundations of the building rest on piles passing through it and deepened into the natural soil.
