Our team was appointed for delivery of Structural Engineering and MEP Networks design consultancy for Concept & Pre-Project Stage development of Khimki Mixed Use Development located in close proximity to Vashutinskoye highway and Oktyabrskaya Railway. The project included the following buildings covering the total area of 220,000 m2:
Total plot area is 43,300 m2, 24,500 m2 of which is construction footprint area.
In-situ reinforced concrete frame of buildings consists of vertical load bearing columns rigidly connected with flat slab structures with drop panels. Lateral stability of building frames is provided by stair and lift shafts. Foundation structures of buildings are piled-raft foundations with different pile field grids depending on building height. Floor slab and roof slab structures of shopping gallery in the podium part of the residential complex consist of reinforced concrete slab supported by a system of steel beams and trusses.
The main goal of the project was to develop a maximum possible regular grid of vertical load-bearing structures of designed buildings which would allow to achieve maximum flexibility and efficiency of architectural space usage within floors that have different functional purpose along the height of the building (underground parkings, retail areas, residential and office premises). At the same time, it should meet requirements for structural safety and economic feasibility of the main load-bearing frame of the building and also constructability of execution of works at construction site.
