Design of hotels is one of popular services that CLANCY ENGINEERING provides to its clients.
In 2012 our team was appointed as Structural & Civil Engineers for the design of a new building hosting a 4-Star Hotel and Luxury Apartments in the rapidly developing area 200 km south-west of Moscow, Russia.
This development is a 16-storey building with a single level basement, lobby area and function rooms at ground floor, technical floor and residential floors with 150 branded luxury apartments. The total floor area of the building is 10600 m2.
The structure of the building was designed as a monolithic reinforced concrete, with in-situ RC slabs spanning onto in-situ RC columns to provide the open-plan arrangement through the apartment levels, transfer beams and slabs at technical level to provide a column free lobby areas at ground floor. The basement slab and walls were designed as a watertight sealed box to protect basement from high ground water levels. Due to poor ground conditions at formation level, the piled foundations on a raft slab solution was proposed.
